How to do when your acer tmtx40-g2 laptop battery won't charge
1, Please check the hardware at first:
a, Clean the acer tmtx40-g2 battery contacts. Try charging the laptop battery with the power off. Some laptops draw a lot of power -- so much so that they can't efficiently charge the battery and run demanding tasks at the same time. If the battery doesn't seem to be getting fully charged, shut down the laptop entirely and see how it goes.
b, Try a deep charge. If the acer tmtx40-g2 battery is in a bad state, you might be able to bring it back to life with a deep charge cycle. First, make sure it's complete discharged by running the laptop with the battery installed (and the AC adapter removed) until the laptop completely dies. Then charge the laptop overnight.
c, If your original old battery still charges and discharges but your new replacement acer tmtx40-g2 battery will not, the new battery may have run to 0% or it may be a defective unit. This may be an indication that you need to replace your AC Adapter. It is more difficult to charge a new battery than it is to charge an older "broken in" battery. If your AC adapter is not outputting the correct amount of power you can run your computer, and charge an old battery, but you may be unable to charge a brand new battery.
If neither battery will recharge, you are most likely experiencing a failure in the laptop charge system (AC adapter, charge port, or motherboard charge circuit).

a, Make sure you're on the latest BIOS revision for your laptop. Windows system, you could also try a repair install and rule out a corrupt installation.
b, Have a look at your power settings, open up your control panel, and head into the Power Options.
There are several settings in here, take a quick glance around to make sure that nothing looks out of place. The particular one to look out for is the setting that causes your laptop to shut down if your battery percentage drops to a certain low threshold.
c, Update your drivers, open up the device manager, and under Batteries you'll find a number of entries.
There should usually be three, one for the battery itself, one for the charger and a third called 'Microsoft ACPI Compliant Control Method Battery'. Right click on all of these entries head into properties, then into the driver tab and find the 'Update Driver' button (This may also be found by just right clicking the entry and hitting 'Update driver software'). Once you've done this, restart your laptop and try plugging the charger in again.
If you try all of these troubleshooting steps and your battery is still not working properly, it's time to get a new battery.
